was founded in 1985, and today it has about 200 members. It’s a non-profitable assotiation and its main purpose is generally the preservation and maintenance of the Greek traditions and especially of the Greek traditional dances!
For this reason it organizes cultural festivals or participates in these in cooperation with other local cultural factors. ”OI RIZES” can give non-profitable performances with Greek traditional dances wherever they are invited. It has also offered hospitality to different foreign dance groups in Psachna.
In the dancing groups more than 160 students of all ages are taught Greek dances. It has a quite big wardrobe which day after day enriches with accurate copies of traditional costumes from many regions of Greece .
The Assotiation is very active and live. All these years, it has taken part in many cultural celebrations and traditional dance festivals not only in the island of Evia (place of origin) and Greece , but in many countries abroad as well! Since 1987, it has toured Europe ( Germany , France , Belgium , and Holland ) but also visited Tunisia in 2002 where it gave a performance for the President of the country Ben Ali!
In September 2006, it travelled to China participating in the 9th Universal Cultural Festival of Beijing where it won first prize of appearance among 80 dance groups from all over the world! Lately, in August 2008, it visited the island of Cyprus where it took part in Folk Dance Festivals in Larnaca and Araddipou.
